Jacob Brandon in his first season as a quality control coach at Cincinnati in 2023. He will work with the inside linebackers. Brandon previously served on Scott Satterfield’s staff at Louisville from 2020-22. He was elevated to a quality control role in 2021, coaching the outside linebackers, after previously serving as a graduate assistant in 2020. He was instrumental in the development of Yasir Abdullah, who earned first team All-ACC and posted a conference-leading 9.5 sacks in 2022. With Brandon helping lead the way, the Cardinals led the nation with 50 sacks in 2022. In 2021, Brandon also served as the interim outside linebackers coach beginning midway through the season as Abdullah tallied 10 sacks. Prior to Louisville, Brandon spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Georgia Southern where he developed the outside linebackers. The Eagles finished third in total defense in the Sun Belt Conference in 2019 and won the 2018 Raycom Camellia Bow. Brandon coached three seasons as a student assistant at Appalachian State from 2015-17, helping the Mountaineers secure two Sun Belt title and a pair of bowl wins. A 2018 graduate of Appalachian State, Brandon earned a bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in coaching. He earned a master’s degree from Georgia Southern in coaching education in 2019. Brandon and his wife, Ciara, reside in Cincinnati.
